Fastening systems
Traditionally, deck boards are secured using stainless steel screws. This technique is highly reliable, but has one major disadvantage: the screws remain visible. This can be remedied using wood plugs, which are available in Padouk and Ipé.
Certain wood species are so solid, that they can be invisibly fixed using other fasteners such as hardWood Clip or B-Fix. Wood species that fall into this category are:
Afrormosia - Afzelia - Cumaru - Ipé - Itauba - Padouk
HARDWOOD CLIP
HardWood Clip is unique because the deck boards can be screwed directly onto the joists - as in traditional installation - but in this case, the screw remains invisible. hardWood Clip spacers are also hollow from the inside, so that deck boards have adequate space to shift under the influence of a varying humidity.
B-FIX
B-Fix is another invisible fastening system that guarantees a perfect finish for your exterior decking. The system is made out of stainless steel and offers an exceptional longevity for your deck boards. B-Fix is easy to install and allows you to save time in comparison to other fastening techniques. B-Fix is also very easy to dismantle, even the middle boards.
BERNER
This certified terrace screw is made of martensitic stainless steel and has been fitted with a drill head. This drill head disposes of drill dust to prevent wood splitting. Berner Easytop 5 x 50 mm screws come in packages of 200, bit inclusive.
SOLIDOR ADJUSTABLE DECK SUPPORTS
Solidor deck supports provide the ideal solution for elevated decks. They are easy to install, lightweight, and have a high supporting power. Solidor deck supports are also easily adjustable in height and have a large surface, which leads to an excellent stability.
PLUGS
Hardwood plugs are available per 100 in Ipé and Padouk
